WHEREAS, on 19 October 2015, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of Valenzuela (CGOV) enacted Ordinance No. 246. Series of 2015 entitle, "AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TAX AMNESTY OR RELIEF ON THE PAYMENT OF SURCHARGES PENALTIES AND INTEREST ON REAL PROPERTY TAXES ON MACHINERIES";

WHEREAS, said Ordinance granted tax amnesty or relief thereby condoning the assessed penalties, surcharges and interest on delinquent real property back taxes pertaining to Machineries as of 31 December 2015 and prior years;

WHEREAS, under said Ordinance the tax amnesty or relief may only be availed by filing an application, in a prescribed form to be issued by the City Treasurer's Office, on or before 31 December 2015;

WHEREAS, however, the City Government received numerous request from owners of machineries requesting the City to extend the prescribed period to avail the said tax relief or amnesty;

WHEREAS, in view of the said numerous request of owners as well as the additional revenue which the City may generate from such extension, the Sangguniang Panlungsod deemed it wise to extend the prescribed period of availment of said tax amnesty or relief by amending pertinent provisions of Ordinance No. 246, Series of 2015.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ORDAINED as it is hereby ORDAINED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Valenzuela, in a session duly assembled, that:

SECTION 1. Section 4 of Ordinance No. 246, Series of 2015 shall be amended as follows:

"SECTION 4. CONDITIONS. The Tax Amnesty of Relief may be availed only upon settlement of the total basic real property tax obligations on said Machineries computed as of the date of application which must be filed on or before 30 June 2016"

SECTION 2. Section 5 of Ordinance No. 246, Series of 2015 shall be amended as follows:

SECTION 5. AVAILMENT. Taxpayers who desire to avail of this tax amnesty or relief under this Ordinance shall file an application, in a prescribed form to be issued by the City Treasure's Office, on or before 30 June 2015."

SECTION 3. REPEALING CLAUSE. All previous Ordinance and rules/regulations inconsistent with the provisions hereof are deemed repealed or modified accordingly.

SECTION 4. EFFECTIVITY CLAUSE. This Ordinance shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation.
