AMENDMENTS OF ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 68-A, S. 1989 RE: REVISED RULES AND REGULATION GOVERNING THE REGISTRATION, LICENSURE AND OPERATION OF HOSPITALS IN THE PHILIPPINES



Pursuant to Section 15 of R.A. No. 4226 and consistent with E.O. 119. Sections 8,2,15.2, 17.2. 20 and 21.2 of DOH Administrative Order No. 68-A, s. 1989 are hereby amended In order to strengthen and improve efficiency of the BLR In the Issuance of hospital licenses.

SECTION 1. Any applicant hospital found not complying with the technical requirements for hospital licensure of the category applied for shall be issued a license appropriate to what the hospital has complied with. Provisional license shall no longer be issued.

Example: A secondary category hospital applying for a license to operate can only be Issued such a license if all the technical requirements have been complied with. Non-compliance with all the technical requirements shall downgrade the category of the hospital to primary.

SECTION 2. A non-refundable license fee shall be charged for an application for renewal of license to operate a hospital during the first three (3) months before the expiry date of the hospital license.

SECTION 3. Each specific license shall be effective for one year ending on the date specified In the license.

SECTION 4. Application for renewal of license shall be flied within three (3) months before the expiry date of the hospital license. Only complete applications with supporting documents shall be accepted.

SECTION 5. This Order amends Administrative Order No. 68-A. s. 1989 and supersedes previous issuances that are inconsistent herewith.
