[ PRC BOARD OF PHARMACY RESOLUTION NO. 12, October 08, 1991 ]

REGROUPING OF THE SUBJECTS IN THE LICENSURE EXAMINATION FOR THE PRACTICE OF PHARMACY



WHEREAS pursuant to Sec. 11(d) and (e) of R.A. 5921, as amended, and Sec. 6(a) of P.D. 223, the Board on June 9, 1988 promulgated Res. No. 103 (Series of 1988): REGROUPING OF THE SUBJECTS IN THE LICENSURE EXAMINATION FOR THE PRACTICE OF PHARMACY (this was published in the Official Gazette on June 13, 1988 — Vol. 84, No. 24);

WHEREAS the Board, upon consultation and consent of the Philippine Association of Colleges of Pharmacists (PACOP), proposed changes in the said Resolution to keep at pace with the current technical knowledge and skills required of the pharmacist to practice pharmacy and to conform the names of the subjects to international terminologies; and

WHEREAS in consonance therewith, the Board prescribed and adopted such changes — new groups of related subjects with their respective percentages and the current subject — title: Pharmacology — Pharmacokinetics — for the January and July 1991 Pharmacist licensure examinations.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board, by virtue of the powers vested by laws, hereby resolved, as it now so resolves, that after approval by the Commission, Group I (1) and (2) and Group III (5) & (6) in Resolution No. 103 (Series of 1988) be amended to read, to wit:

GROUP I
Practice of Pharmacy
(Industry) Pharmaceutics

1. Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms, Physical Pharmacy, Manufacturing, and Jurisprudence & Ethics .............................. 20%

2. Quality Control/Quality Assurance, Drug Testing with Instrumentation, Microbiology, and Public Health .................. 20%

GROUP III
Practice of Pharmacy
(Hospital and Community)

5. Dispensing — Compounding, Pharmaceutical Calculation, Clinical Pharmacy, and Incompatibilities with Adverse Drug Reactions …………….. 15%

6. Pharmacology — Pharmacokinetics, Toxicology, and Biochemistry ………………….. 15%

that the foregoing revised groups of subjects be prescribed in the January 1992 and subsequent Pharmacist licensure examinations; and that the prescription thereof in the January and July 1991 Pharmacist licensure examinations shall be in order — hence, the general average rating of every examinee therein shall embody the said new arrangement or grouping of subjects with the equivalent percentage thereof.

RESOLVED, likewise, that the herein Resolution be extensively circularized and disseminated to all schools, colleges and universities offering pharmacy course.

RESOLVED, FINALLY, that the herein Resolution, upon approval of the Commission, shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following the completion of the publication thereof in the Official Gazette or newspaper of general circulation.
