[ POEA (DOLE) MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 61, November 15, 1991 ]

ABOLITION OF DEMAND BOND REQUIREMENT FOR SINGAPORE HELPER EMPLOYERS



With the assurance from the Singapore Labour Ministry that repatriation funds for distressed Filipino Domestic Helpers can be sourced from the cash bond required from DH employers by their office, the S$2000 demand bond required for employment contract authentication by the Philippine Embassy in Singapore is hereby abolished.

The following documentary requirements shall be submitted to POEA for contract processing:

a. Standard Employment Contract (SEC) duly verified/authenticated by the Philippine Embassy;

b. Pre-paid Ticket Advice, verified by the Philippine Embassy;

c. Copy of In-Principle Approval letter issued by the Singapore government; and

d. Certificate of Personal Accident and Life Insurance for workers.

This Order takes effect immediately.
