[ LTO ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. AO-91-008, November 29, 1991 ]

AMENDMENT TO ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 3 ON THE MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSE PLATES



Section 7 (2) of Administrative Order No. 3, Series of 1980, entitled “Rules and Regulations on the New System of Registration Pursuant to Batas Pambansa Bilang 43, and 74 Amending Related Provisions of R.A. 4136, Otherwise Known as the Land Transportation and Traffic Code”, which reads:

"SECTION 7. Motor Vehicle License Plate — The Bureau of Land Transportation (LTO) shall cause reflective number plates to be manufactured and issued to owners of motor vehicles and trailers which are duly registered with the Bureau (LTO) in accordance with these regulations. The identification numbers and letters of any motor vehicle license plate shall be permanently assigned to such motor vehicle during the entire period of its road worthiness as determined by the Bureau of Land Transportation. In consideration thereof, the following plate color scheme is herein adopted:

1. Private Motor Vehicles — White background with green numerals;

2. Public Utility Vehicles — Yellow background with black numerals;

3. Government Vehicles — White background with red numerals;

4. Diplomatic Vehicles — To be provided under a separate order.”

is hereby amended to read as follows:

SECTION 7. Motor Vehicle License Plate - The Bureau of Land Transportation (LTO) shall cause reflective number plates to be manufactured and issued to owners of motor vehicles and trailers which are duly registered with the Bureau (LTO) in accordance with these regulations. The identification numbers and letters of any motor vehicle license plate shall be permanently assigned to such motor vehicle during the entire period of its road worthiness as determined by the Bureau of Land Transportation (LTO). In consideration thereof, the following plate color scheme is herein adopted:

This Order shall take effect upon approval.
