REQUIREMENT OF ISO 9001 CERTIFICATION FOR CATEGORY AAA

WHEREAS, part of the mandate of PCAB is to promote the development of the construction industry by formulating policies that will enhance efficiency and effectiveness of contractors prosecuting projects for the public;

WHEREAS, ISO 9001 is a universally accepted quality management system that proves to be beneficial for both project owner and contractors;

WHEREAS, government recognizes that ISO 9001 improves the delivery of service and has embarked on the certification of government agencies to the standard which includes major infrastructure agencies; and WHEREAS, PCAB is certified to ISO 9001:2008;

NOW, THEREFORE, based on the foregoing premises, the Board RESOLVED to require all contractors with License Category “AAA” to be certified to the version of ISO 9001 existing at the time of ISO registration by Contracting Fiscal year 2015-2016.

The Board further RESOLVED that the afore-stated certification shall be required of new, renewal and upgrading applications prior to the filing of their respective applications under Category “AAA”.

This Resolution shall take effect starting CFY 2015-2016.
