[ MMDA RESOLUTION NO. 18-05, April 03, 2018 ]

AMENDING MMDA RESOLUTION NO. 16-01, SERIES OF 2016, TO INCLUDE ILLEGALLY-PARKED MOTOR VEHICLES WITHIN THE COVERAGE OF THE “NO PHYSICAL CONTACT APPREHENSION POLICY”

WHEREAS, the Metro Manila Council issued MMDA Resolution No. 16-01, Series of 2016, therein “Re-implementing the No Physical Contact Apprehension of Traffic Violators”;

WHEREAS, there remains a proliferation of illegally-parked motor vehicles in the national, city, and municipal roads of Metro Manila despite earnest efforts exerted by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and the Metro Manila Local Government Units in road clearing;

WHEREAS, the “No Physical Contact Apprehension Policy” has been proven to be an efficient method of enforcing traffic laws, rules and regulations as well as an effective means in instilling self-discipline among motorists;

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, as it is hereby resolved, that the Metro Manila Council hereby amends Section 1 of MMDA Resolution No. 16-01, Series of 2016, to read as follows:
“Section 1. COVERAGE
This Resolution shall cover the moving violations of erring drivers and illegally-parked motor vehicles along the national, city, and municipal roads of Metro Manila.” (Amendment underscored)

All  other  provisions  of  said  Resolution  not  otherwise  affected  by  the foregoing amendment shall remain in full force and effect.

This Resolution shall be effective five (5) days from the date of its publication in two (2) newspapers of general circulation and submission of a copy thereof with the Office of the National Administrative Register, U. P. Law Center.
