AN ACT CONVERTING THE TALOANGA BARANGAY HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SANTA MAGDALENA, PROVINCE OF SORSOGON, INTO A NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE TALAONGA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL.

Be it enacted by the Batasang Pambansa in session assembled:

SECTION 1. The Talaonga Barangay High School in the Municipality of Santa Magdalena, Province of Sorsogon, is hereby converted into a national high school to be known as the Talaonga National High School. Said school shall offer a comprehensive curriculum which includes both academic and vocational courses. The Minister of Education and Culture is hereby empowered to organize said school accordingly.

Upon the organization of the Talaonga National High School, the assets, liabilities, personnel, equipment, and records of the Talaonga Barangay High School shall be transferred to the Talaonga National High School.

SEC. 2. The Minister of Education and Culture shall implement the provisions of this Act so as to make the Talaonga National High School in operation on the first school term after the effectivity of this Act.

SEC. 3. The amount of two hundred thousand pesos for the operation of the school shall be charged to appropriations authorized by Batas Pambansa Blg. 80 and Batas Pambansa Blg. 131 for the Ministry of Education and Culture intended for new national schools: Provided, That the local government unit concerned shall continue to provide its share in the cost of operating and maintaining said school. Starting Calendar Year 1983 such sum as may be necessary for the operation and maintenance of the school shall be provided in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
