[ BATAS PAMBANSA BLG. 54, December 22, 1979 ]

AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A PLEBISCITE ON JANUARY 30, 1980, AT WHICH PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE FILIPINO ELECTORATE.

Be it enacted by the Batasang Pambansa in session assembled:

SECTION 1. A plebiscite shall be held on January 30, 1980, simultaneously with the election for local officials, at which proposed amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines shall be submitted to the electorate for their consideration.

SEC. 2. The expenses for such plebiscite shall be charged to the appropriations of the Commission on Elections authorized for the purpose and any deficiency thereof shall be covered by appropriations authorized for special priority activities of government as embodied in the Special Activities Fund or its equivalent.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
