[ BATAS PAMBANSA BLG. 546, June 24, 1983 ]

AN ACT CREATING BARANGAY HOLY SPIRIT IN QUEZON CITY, METROPOLITAN MANILA.

Be it enacted by the Batasang Pambansa in session assembled:

SECTION 1. A portion of Barangay Matandang Balara in Quezon City, Metropolitan Manila, is separated there from and constituted into a new barangay to be known as Barangay Holy Spirit.

SEC. 2. The new barangay shall include the area which is bounded by the Republic Avenue on the north; by the Don Mariano Marcos Avenue on the east; by the Luzon Avenue on the west; and by the Don Antonio Zuzuarregui Street on the south.

SEC. 3. After ratification by the majority of the votes cast in a plebiscite to be conducted in the areas affected within one hundred twenty days from the approval of this Act, the President of the Philippines shall appoint the first officials of the new barangay who shall hold office until their successors shall have been duly elected and qualified.

SEC. 4. The Commission on Elections shall conduct and supervise the plebiscite herein provided, the expenses which shall be charged to local funds.

SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
