[ BATAS PAMBANSA BLG. 718, April 13, 1984 ]

AN ACT CONSTITUTING SITIOS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MALIMONO, SUR1GAO DEL NORTE, INTO NEW BARANGAYS, TO BE KNOWN AS BARANGAYS VILLA RIZA, CANSAYONG, AND CAN-AGA

Be it enacted by the Batasang Pambansa in session assembled:

SECTION 1. The sitios of Villa Riza, Cansayong and Can-aga are hereby separated from their respective mother barangay and constituted into three (3) new separate barangays to be respectively known as Barangay Villa Riza, Barangay Cansayong and Barangay Can-aga, all in the Municipality of Malimono, Province of Surigao del Norte.

SEC. 2. After ratification by the majority of the votes cast in a plebiscite to be conducted in the areas affected, within a period of ninety (90) days after the approval of this Act, the President shall appoint the officials of the new barangays. Said officials shall hold office until their successors shall have been duly elected and qualified.

SEC. 3. The barangays herein created shall begin to exist upon appointment and qualification of their respective officers.

SEC. 4. The Commission on Elections shall conduct and supervise the holding of the plebiscite and the expenses for such plebiscite shall be charged to the appropriations of the Commission on Elections for said purpose.

SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
