[ PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 275, August 18, 1973 ]

EXTENDING GUARANTEE COVERAGE FOR LOSSES ON PRODUCTION LOANS TO LIVESTOCK, POULTRY, FISHERY, VEGETABLES AND OTHER AGRICULTURE PROJECTS IN THE PROVINCES OF LANAO DEL NORTE, LANAO DEL SUR, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR, COTABATO, SOUTH COTABATO, SULU AND IN THE CITY BASILAN.

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Government to speed up the development of these areas by encouraging their residents to raise their level of production and to attain self-sufficiency immediately;

WHEREAS, self-sufficiency requires the promotion and development of essential agricultural projects such as fishing, poultry, livestock, etc.; and

WHEREAS, the guarantee prescribed by the Agricultural Guarantee Fund covers only losses from production loans for rice and corn;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers in me vested by the Constitution, as Commander-in-Chief of all the Armed Forces of the Philippines and pursuant to Proclamation No. 1104, dated January 17, 1973 and General Order No. 1, dated September 22, 1972, as amended, do hereby order and decree the inclusion of livestock, poultry, fishing and other agricultural projects under the guarantee coverage of the Agricultural Guarantee Fund in the provinces of Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Cotabato South, Cotabato, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Sulu and in the City of Basilan.

The Agricultural Guarantee Fund Board is hereby directed to implement this Decree.

This Decree shall take effect immediately.

Done in the City of Manila, this 18th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-three.
