[ PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 951, June 22, 1976 ]

APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE RELIEF AND REHABILITATION OF PEOPLE AND AREAS DAMAGED BY TYPHOON "DIDANG."

WHEREAS, the Calamity Fund appropriated in Presidential Decrees No. 733 and 904 for the rehabilitation in the aftermath of typhoon "Didang" has been found insufficient;

WHEREAS, savings in the program of expenditure in the Fiscal Year 1976 budget are being generated for the purpose of funding the rehabilitation requirements of typhoon "Didang;"

WHEREAS, careful evaluation and screening of rehabilitation projects will necessarily extend beyond June 30, 1976, the date on which unobligated budgetary savings revert to the General Fund;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree:

SECTION 1. The sum of Seven Hundred Fifty Million Pesos is hereby appropriated for the relief and rehabilitation of people and areas affected by typhoon "Didang" to be spent beginning July 1, 1976 until exhausted: Provided, That the amounts to be actually committed for expenditure shall not exceed budgetary savings generated during Fiscal Year 1976.

SEC. 2. The President of the Philippines shall determine the projects and activities which shall be supported from the appropriation authorized herein.

SEC. 3. This Decree shall take effect July 1, 1976.

Done in the City of Manila, this 22nd day of June, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-six.
