[ PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 963, July 15, 1976 ]

AMENDING PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 458 RELATIVE TO DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF AIRPORTS.

Whereas, there is a need to integrate the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of all modes of transport to enable effective and economical flow of cargo and passenger traffic throughout the country;

Whereas, it is doubly imperative that such integrated approach be adopted to airport systems to ensure a high degree of efficiency and safety in air transportation.

Now, therefore, I, Ferdinand E. Marcos, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby decree and order to be part of the law of the land, the following:

Section 1. Presidential Decree No. 458, dated May 16, 1974, is hereby amended by transferring the functions of the location and design of airport runways from the Department of Public Highways to the Department of Public Works, Transportation and Communications trough the Civil Aeronautic Administration to be integrated into a total airport systems planning and operations.

Sec. 2. This decree shall take effect immediately.

Done in the City of Manila, this 15th day of July, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-six.
