[ PROCLAMATION NO. 1584, August 11, 2008 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2008, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBAY



WHEREAS, Tuesday, September 2, 2008, marks the 143rd birth anniversary of the late General Simeon A. Ola, the last revolutionary general to surrender at the end of the Philippine-American War;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Albay, be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Tuesday, September 2, 2008 as special (non-working) day in the Province of Albay.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 11th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Eight.
