[ PROCLAMATION NO. 17, August 17, 2010 ]

DECLARING THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2010, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBAY



WHEREAS, Thursday, September 2, 2010 , marks the 145th birth anniversary of the late General Simeon A. Ola, the last revolutionary general to surrender at the end of the Philippine-American War;

WHEREAS, in order to give the people of the Province of Albay, the opportunity to celebrate the occasion, it is but fitting and proper to declare September 2, 2010 as special (non-working) day.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Thursday, September 2, 2010 as special (non-working) day in the Province of Albay.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 17th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Ten.
