[ PROCLAMATION NO. 636, May 18, 2004 ]

DECLARING A STATE OF CALAMITY IN THE PROVINCES OF CAMARINES NORTE, CAMARINES SUR, ALBAY, SORSOGON, CATANDUANES, MASBATE, EASTERN SAMAR AND NORTHERN SAMAR



Upon the recommendation of the Secretary of National Defense, as Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council, and by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare a state of calamity in the provinces of Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Masbate, Eastern Samar and Northern Samar in view of the extensive damage to lives and properties and massive displacement of families caused by typhoon "Dindo".

All departments and other government agencies concerned are herby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection with the occurrence of calamities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and cause the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
