DECLARING WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2005 AS SPECIAL WORKING HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY FOR THE OBSERVANCE OF THE CHINESE LUNAR NEW YEAR



WHEREAS, Wednesday, February 9, 2005, the Chinese community all over the world celebrates the Chinese Lunar New Year;

WHEREAS, to promote cultural understanding and integration, the entire Filipino nation should have the opportunity to join all Chinese-Filipinos in observing and celebrating the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Wednesday, February 9, 2005, as special working holiday throughout the country.

IN WITHNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 11th day of January, in the year of our Lord, Two Thousand and Five.
