[ GTEB MEMORANDUM NO. 90-09, May 22, 1990 ]

Reminders to comply with the submission of supporting documents on time

It has been observed lately that awardees of Export Authorization Quotas fail to submit on time supporting documents required under Sec. X (11) of the GTEB rules thus causing problems for their intended export shipments.

Awards are valid within the validity period indicated in your assessment notices only upon compliance with the submission of supporting documents within 30 days from date of award or shipment date, as the case may be whichever is earlier.  Failure to comply will result in automatic expiration of your award.

Please be advised that the following supporting documents enumerated in Sec. X-11 of the rules should be strictly followed in order to avoid any problem in your compliance:

-      Original GTEB/Bank verified letters of credit;
-      Approved applications to import raw materi als; or
-      Proof of local materials purchases with the corresponding consumption schedule thereof;
-      Certification from the Central Bank that the manufacturer-exporter is operating on an Open Account (OA) or certification from the manufacturer-exporter's local bank that it operates on a document against payment (DP)

For your guidance.
