(NAR) VOL. III NO. 1 / JANUARY - MARCH 1992
On account of the number of complaints received by the Philippine Labor Attache based at United Arab Emirates (UAE) from female contract workers who had been hired as family drivers but were later required to work as housemaids due to the difficulty of expatriates obtaining driver's license at the said country, all concerned are advised of said difficulty. In the event of failure to secure a UAE driver's license, the workers should be repatriated back to the Philippines at employer's or agency's expense unless said worker decides to stay and work as domestic helper instead under the same terms and conditions as initially agreed and with the approval of the POEA or the Labor Attache or the Philippine Embassy or Consulate at the site of employment.
For your information and compliance.
