AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 16, SERIES OF 1986



In view of the continuous war escalation within the Persian Gulf, the Tripartite Technical Working Group decided to re-assess and re-evaluate the series of attacks occurring within the Gulf.  After considering the interest and welfare of both sectors, Memorandum Circular No. 16, Series of 1986 is hereby modified and amended and henceforth the area in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman bounded by west of Longitude 57º and north of Latitude 24º are considered war risk.  Seamen on board trading vessels as defined in Circular No. 10 dated May 30, 1986 will continue to receive the same minimum 100% premium pay.

Manning agencies and their principals are hereby reminded to comply strictly with this Circular.

This Circular takes effect on November 1, 1987.
