[ LTFRB MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 96-007, March 13, 1996 ]

UNIFORMS FOR BUS, TAXI AND JITNEY DRIVERS & BUS CONDUCTORS/CONDUCTRESS



Effective 01 June 1996, all operators of passenger buses, taxis and passenger jitneys shall require their drivers (and conductors/conductress in the case of buses) to wear, while driving, the following prescribed uniforms, to wit:
1. FOR BUS AND TAXI DRIVERS - White Polo shirts with collars and name for patches on left breast sides; Long Pants (Any color).
(and conductors/conductress for Buses)    
     
2. FOR JITNEY DRIVERS - Light Blue Polo Shirts or T-shirts with Collars; Long Pants (Any color).
All drivers are, likewise, required to wear shoes while driving. Slippers and rubber shoes of any kind are not allowed.

This Memorandum Circular shall initially apply to bus, taxi and Jitney drivers and bus conductors/conductress in metro Manila, including drivers whose lines of operation touch Metro Manila. Compliance herewith by drivers whose routes are outside Metro Manila or confined to the provinces is subject to the decision of the LTFRB’s Regional Manager concerned who, after due public consultation, will issue a directive as the case may be, requiring implementation of this Circular within his jurisdiction.

Operators whose drivers are already with uniforms of a different color at the time of effectivity of this Circular may be exempted from this Circular.

Any and all issuances inconsistent herewith are hereby superseded/revoked.

In accordance with Presidential Memorandum Circular No. 11, dated October 9, 1992, three (3) copies of this Memorandum Circular shall be filed with the U.P. Law Center on or before fifteen (15) days prior to 01 June 1996.
