(NAR) VOL.8 NO. 1 / JANUARY-MARCH 1997

[ POEA DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 34, S. 1996, December 12, 1997 ]

FIXED ALLOWABLE PLACEMENT FEE

In view of the need to rationalize placement fee in order to be responsive to the rapidly changing market conditions and the rising cost of deployment and placement of OFWs, the allowable placement fee is hereby fixed at a ceiling amount equivalent to one month salary exclusive of documentation and processing costs.

The Special Markets of Korea and Taiwan, however, in view of their peculiarities are not covered by this placement fee ceiling. Department Order No. 2, Series of 1993, shall remain applicable to the above-mentioned markets.

This Order shall take effect on 01 January 1997.

For strict compliance.
