(NAR) VOL. 10 NO. 1 / JANUARY - MARCH 1999

[ LTFRB MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 99-002, January 06, 1999 ]

STOPPAGE OF THE KABIT LEGALIZATION PROGRAM

The Kabit Legalization Program has been in existence for quite some time now giving all kabit operators all the opportunity to legalize their operations. It is high time however stop the program in view of the abuses that have been reported to the Board. Moreover, such stoppage is consistent with Supreme Court decisions not favoring kabit systems.

WHEREFORE, in view of the premises, the Board hereby resolves to discontinue the Kabit Legalization Program effective February 1, 1999. Accordingly, no new application for Kabit Legalization will be accepted after January 31, 1999.
