LIFTING OF DEPLOYMENT BAN OF DOMESTIC HELPERS AND UNSKILLED WORKERS TO JORDAN



In view of the (1) enactment by the Jordanian government of Temporary Law No. 51 regulating all private Jordanian agencies recruiting migrant labor and its adoption of the Special Work Contract for Foreign Domestic Workers with its liberal welfare provisions, (2) opening of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Amman that assures additional safeguard for the benefit of all Overseas Filipino Workers and (3) the necessity to stem the flow of irregular labor migration to Jordan, the deployment ban of domestic helpers and unskilled workers to Jordan, imposed through POEA Memorandum Circular Nos. 29 and 33, series of 1990, is hereby lifted effective immediately.

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) is hereby directed to issue the necessary implementing guidelines for this purpose.
