AMENDING PORTIONS OF CMO 3-2004 AND REVERTING THE VEHICLE IMPORTATION COMPLIANCE AND MONITORING (UNIT) TO THE INTELLIGENCE AND ENFORCEMENT GROUP OF THE BUREAU OF CUSTOMS



I. AMENDMENTS

Portions of Customs Memorandum Order No. 3-2004, dated 20 February 2004, are hereby amended to read as follows:

"1. OBJECTIVES:

"1.6 To consolidate the Bureau's efforts in monitoring the importation of motor vehicles."

"3. ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS:

"3.1. The Warrant and Motor Vehicle Unit (WMVU) is hereby established.  In its stead, the Vehicle Importation Compliance Monitoring Unit (VICMU), attached to the Intelligence and Enforcement Group, this Bureau, is hereby established;"

"3.2.4. May cause the return of CP's to the originating port for review in relation to issues that appear to be non-compliant with existing laws, rules and regulations."

II. RETENTION OF FUNCTIONS:

The VICMU shall retain its functions/authority under said CMO 3-2004.

II. REPEALING CLAUSE:

All rules and regulations inconsistent with the foregoing are hereby repealed, amended and modified accordingly.

IV. EFFECTIVITY:

This Order shall take effect immediately.
