TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS TO THE CAYMAN ISLANDS



In view of the recent disaster brought about by the killer hurricane, IVAN, the Immigration Office of the government of Cayman Islands has announced that while the island of Grand Cayman is in a state of recovery, only the following persons are allowed to enter the country:

 

- Caymanian nationals including persons with Caymanian status and Cayman Islands passports;
- Persons with permanent residency status;
- Work permit holders and their spouses;
- Persons employed in the public service and their spouses (other dependents are not allowed entry to Cayman Islands);
- Other persons authorized by the Chief Immigration Officer to enter the islands.

The above restriction does not apply to Grand Cayman's sister islands of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Accordingly, travel to these two islands by workers with confirmed tickets and pre-booked accommodation shall be allowed.
