REVISED DEFINITION OF NEAR-COASTAL VOYAGES UNDER THE PHILIPPINE MERCHANT MARINE RULES AND REGULATIONS, 1997 (PMMRR ’97)



Pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 474, and Executive Order No. 125, as amended, and in consonance with the Philippines’ accession to the 1978 International Convention on Standards of Training Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), as amended, the definition of near coastal voyages as stipulated under Chapter I, Regulation 1/4 (59) of the PMMRR ’97 is hereby amended as follows:
“Near Coastal voyages means voyages which cover a maximum distance of two hundred (200) nautical miles from the Philippine baselines or voyages which by agreement between the Philippines and another state is considered or treated as coastwise voyage”.
Repealing Clause

Any order, circular or rules and regulations inconsistent herewith is amended or repealed accordingly.

Effectivity

This Circular shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation.
