[ POEA GOVERNING BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 06, S. OF 2008, November 25, 2008 ]

TEMPORARY LIFTING OF THE BAN OF DEPLOYMENT TO LEBANON



WHEREAS, Governing Board Resolution No. 08 Series of 2007 provides for a total ban to deployment in Lebanon due to the unstable peace and order situation in these countries;

WHEREAS, the State recognizes the Filipino family as the foundation of the nation. Accordingly, it shall strengthen its solidarity and actively promote its total development.

WHEREAS, the POEA recognizes the Filipino people’s long-standing tradition of celebrating the Christmas season with the family, a culture deeply ingrained in the Filipino society and one that helps maintain and nurture familial bonds.

NOW, THEREFORE, the POEA Governing Board, in a meeting duly convened, RESOLVES AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED to declare a temporary lifting of the ban to Lebanon for the Christmas season of 2008 and to allow the processing and deployment of returning Filipino workers who are on vacation and are going back to work with the same employer in the same site.
