(NAR) VOL. 15 NOS. 1-2 / JANUARY - MARCH 2004

[ DOTC DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 2004-13, March 17, 2004 ]

EXTENSION ON THE DEADLINE OF FILING OF APPLICATION/PETITION FOR EXTENSION OF VALIDITY OF A CERTIFICATE FOR EXTENSION OF VALIDITY OF A CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE (CPC) FOR PUBLIC UTILITY JEEPNEYS (PUJS) AND TAXI SERVICES UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 2004, LIMITED TO TWO (2) UNITS ONLY PER FRANCHISE (CASE NUMBER)

During a series of meetings and consultations with various PUJ and Taxi operators, associations and cooperatives, it was determined that the necessity to extend the deadline and for LTFRB to accept Applications/Petitions for Extension of Validity of Expired Certificate(s) of Public Convenience until 31 December 2004 is valid and justified.  However, only holders of expired CPCs, as of 01 January 1997 shall be qualified to file their Application/Petition for Extension of Validity, provided, that only two (2) units of PUJ and Taxi shall be allowed per

Franchise/CPC (not withstanding the number of units contained therein).  Petitions/Applications for Dropping and Substitution shall be allowed after the approval of the said Petition/Applications for Extension.

A corresponding penalty amounting to P500.00 per unit per month shall be collected by LTFRB for such late filing of extension and the original case number shall be retained to avoid circumvention of this additional privilege.

This Department Order supersedes any and all issuances inconsistent herewith.

This Department shall take effect fifteen (15) days following its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation or the filing of three (3) copies hereof with the UP Law Center, pursuant to Presidential Circular No. 11, dated 09 October 1992.

SO ORDERED.

Adopted: 17 Mar. 2004
