.1 Module I — Satellite Communication (INMARSAT) Course - 40 hours;3. In addition to the existing syllabus for the Ships Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Course (SRROC), the signalling by Morse Code based from the Module 12, Communication, IMO Model Course 7.03, for one hour and another three hours for Search and Rescue (SAR) exercises are also adopted. The training/learning objectives of Signalling by Morse Code are as follows:

.3 Module III — Global Maritime Distress and Safety System - 40 hours.
.1 Identify Morse Code for the alphabet.4. The completion of Satellite Communication and Ships Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Courses is a pre-requisites for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety Course.
.2 Send and receive Morse signals by flashing light at a rate of 15 characters per minute.
.3 List the parts of a signal made by flashing as “the call”.
.4 Correct use of the “erase” signal when signalling or receiving.
.5 Explain the use of the waiting signal AS.
.6 Correct use of “repetition” signals, AA, AB, WA, WB.
.7 Correct use of “repeat” signal.
.8 Demonstrate the use of the procedure signals C, N, and RQ and state that they cannot be used with single-letter, signals.
.9 List the single-flag signal which may be sounded only in compliance with the requirements of the International Regulations for Preventing Collissions at Sea.
.10 State the distress signal when made by flashing light.
