MONITORING OF OUT-QUOTA SUGAR IMPORTATION UNDER EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 87, SERIES OF 1999



Pursuant to the bidding rules governing the out-quota sugar importation in compliance with Executive Order No. 87, Series of 1999, the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) hereby directs all concerned mills/refineries and Sugar Production Regulation Officers (SPROs) assigned thereat to closely monitor the imported raw sugar for tolling/refining and the disposition of same in the domestic market.

Likewise, pursuant to the aforesaid bidding rules, in order to effectively monitor the disposition of the imported sugar, the SRA hereby orders the concerned mills/refineries for the issuance of raw sugar quedans to cover the volume of imported raw sugar delivered thereat, issued in the name of the importer/consignee and classified as "B" sugar per clearance of the SRA. The concerned SPROs shall attest to the said quedans and shall stamp thereon "Imported "B" Sugar".

After tolling/refining, the concerned refineries shall issue the corresponding refined sugar quedans covering the total volume of imported refined sugar, issued also, in the name of the importer/consignee after the equivalent raw sugar quedans have been surrendered. The SPROs assigned thereat shall attest to the refined sugar quedans and shall stamp thereon 'Imported "B" Sugar'.

Attached is SRA-IRS Form No. 1 to be accomplished by the mills/refineries and submitted weekly, together with the SRA SMS Reports, to the PCRO, SRA, Quezon City.

This Circular Letter shall take effect immediately.
