REGISTRATION OF APPLICANTS FOR REPUBLIC OF KOREA



In preparation for the participation of the Philippines in the new Employment Permit System (EPS) of the Republic of Korea under a government-to-government hiring arrangement, the POEA wishes to announce and inform the public of the following:

1. The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) is presently conducting an open registration for interested applicants for the Special Hiring Program for Korea (SHPK) with the following requirements:

a. Photocopy of valid NBI clearance;
b. Photocopy of valid passport and/or NSO authenticated birth certificate (applicants should not be over 40 years old by August 2004)
c. Photocopy of high school and/or college diploma
d. 1 piece colored 2 X 2 picture

The POEA IS CONDUCTING THE REGISTRATION FREE OF CHARGE.  The general public is warned against the use of unauthorized application forms. Only APPLICATION FORMS duly marked by the POEA shall be accepted for registration purposes.

Only the following positions shall be considered for registration:

1. Machine Operators in electronics and garments factory
2. Experienced Workers in Four or Five Star hotels or luxury vessels

Registration shall also be conducted by the POEA Regional Centers in Cebu City, Davao City and San Fernando, La Union and Extension Units in Baguio City, San Fernando, Pampanga, Calamba, Legaspi City, Bacolod City, Iloilo City, Tacloban City, Zamboanga City, and Cagayan de Oro City

LAST DAY OF FILING OF APPLICATION SHALL BE ON 14 MAY 2004.


All applications shall be placed in designated drop boxes in the POEA lobby. All registered applicants shall be notified of the schedule of examination, interview and other documentary requirements for the SHPK thru tri-media and other means. Registered applicants may also regularly check the POEA website, www.poea.gov.ph for schedules and other updates relative to the SHPK.

The actual interview and selection by Korean employers including the minimum terms and conditions of employment shall be announced thru the tri-media, POEA website and other available means.
