SUSPENSION OF PREVIOUSLY APPROVED INCREASE IN DOMESTIC PORT CHARGES



Pursuant to the 12 September 2002 Presidential Management Staff Memorandum containing the Chief Executive's commitments and directives, and in consonance with the Authority's initiative to reduce logistics cost in the transport of goods and cargoes, the scheduled increases in domestic port charges (Usage and Wharfage) for the Years 2003, 2004 & 2005, under PPA Memorandum Circular No. 06-2001 dated 18 January 2001, are hereby suspended indefinitely until further advice.  This shall mean that the rates for Usage and Wharfage shall be those rates that took effect on 25 February 2002, as follows:

A1. Domestic vessels calling at officially registered private ports shall be charged at one-half (1/2) of the Usage rate at a government port.

 

 

A2. Registered bay and river trade vessels shall also be charged one-half (1/2) of the Usage rate but in no case less than or more than the following charges for a calendar day or fraction thereof.
