EXTENDING THE TEMPORARY REDUCTION OF BUSINESS NAME REGISTRATION FEES



WHEREAS, the global financial crisis has resulted in the displacement of Filipino workers, domestic and overseas alike;

WHEREAS, to promote and encourage business activities and generate employment this Department in the interest of new entrepreneurs and existing business proprietors has amended Section 1, Art. III of DAO No. 6, series of 1999 with DAO No. 09-01, series of 2009, reducing the registration fee of business name by fifty percent (50%);

WHEREAS, pursuant to the applicable provisions of the Administrative Code of 1987, this Order is hereby prescribed and promulgated for the information, guidance, and compliance of those concerned.

SECTION 1. Reduced Fee - Al l those applying for a new business name or renewing an existing business name shall be charged a registration fee of One Hundred Fifty Pesos (P150.00), an amount fifty percent (50%) lower than the original fee of Three Hundred Pesos (P300.00). Provided, however, that the other fees/charges provided under Section 5, Art. III of DAO No. 6, series of 1999, shall remain.

SECTION 2. Coverage - This Order covers sole proprietorships only.

SECTION 3. Period Covered - Such reduction of registration fee shall be implemented starting 16 July 2009 until 31 December 2009. Accordingly thereafter, the registration fees will revert back to Three Hundred Pesos (P300.00);

SECTION 4. Nature of Amendment - The amendment to Section 1 Ar t. III of DAO No. 6, series of 1999, is temporary in nature as the implementation thereof is good only until 31 December 2009. All provisions that are not affected shall continue to remain in full force and effect, provided they have not been previously amended by other issuance(s).

SECTION 5. Effectivity - This Order shall be published in two (2) newspapers of general circulation and shall take effect upon publication.
