RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING OVERSEAS EMPLOYMENT RE: LICENSED AGENCIES



Pursuant to Secs. 1, 3 and 4, Rule I, Book VIII of the Rules and Regulations Governing Overseas Employment, licensed agencies are obliged to: ensure that the workers they deploy are amply protected and all interest, welfare and well-being promoted; provide assistance to OCWs in the enforcement of the contractual obligations by the principals; and assist the OCWs and their families in matters other than contractual obligations arising from overseas employment, respectively.

To ensure compliance with the foregoing rules and regulations particularly insofar as OCWs hired as drivers in Saudi Arabia and other Middle East countries are concerned, the following requirements in their deployment are hereby issued.

1. Employment contracts for OCWs bound to KSA and other Middle East countries shall include the provision that the vehicles to be driven by them are fully and duly insured;

2. Documents duly authenticated by the proper Saudi/Middle East Authorities, showing that the vehicles to be driven by the Filipino OCWs/drivers are fully insured, shall be presented to the Land Based Contract Processing Division; and

3. Other documents relevant to driving such as driver's license, etc. are made available and/or issuance thereof shall be facilitated by the employer upon arrival of the OCWs/drivers at the jobsite.

This Department Order shall take effect immediately.
