ACCREDITATION OF MEAT PLANTS IN INDIA AS EXPORTER OF FROZEN BUFFALO MEAT TO THE PHILIPPINES



WHEREAS, the Philippine Department of Agriculture mission to India, after a thorough investigation and evaluation of the meat inspection and disease situation in the country found favorable conditions that merit allowing the importation of frozen buffalo meat;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ARTHUR C. YAP, Secretary of Agriculture, do hereby issue this order accrediting FRIGERIO CONSERVA ALLANA, in Zaheerabad, Andra Pradesh State, India and INDAGRO FOODS LIMITED in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh State, India to export frozen buffalo meat to the Philippines subject to the conditions set in the following rulings:

    1. DA Memorandum Order 18, series of 1999, otherwise known as, "SGS Inspection of Buffalo Meat Export from India to Philippines"

    2. DA Memorandum Circular 5, series of 1993, otherwise known as, Implementing Guidelines on the Importation of Buffalo Meat from India"

    3. Other existing orders, rules and regulations

All import transactions shall be accompanied by a valid veterinary quarantine clearance (VQC) to import signed by the Secretary of Agriculture or his duly authorized representative and has complied with existing rules and regulations of the Department of Agriculture, the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) and the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS).

All orders, rules and regulations or parts thereof, which are inconsistent with the provisions of this order are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

This ORDER shall take effect immediately.
