MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CURRENCY REQUIREMENTS OF A COMPANY DANGEROUS GOODS INSTRUCTOR



A.O. 121 and 135 require operators who wish to carry dangerous goods to establish a dangerous goods training program as part of their overall training program there are no regulations governing the qualifications of an air operator dangerous goods instructor. Effective immediately, in the interest of aviation safety pursuant to Section 32, paragraph 9 of R.A. 776, the minimum qualifications and currency requirements of a company dangerous goods instructor are as follows:
  1. Successful completion of an initial dangerous goods course, or a refresher course if the time since completion of the initial course exceeds 12 months, given by an authorized dangerous goods training person; and

  2. Re-validation of the dangerous goods training on an annual basis to be given by an authorized dangerous goods training person.
ATO will maintain a list of those agencies/personnel deemed to be qualified to train air operator instructors.
