WHEREAS, Sugar Order No. 9, series of 2009-2010 imposes verification deadline of March 8, 2010 for the verification of “A” Sugar quedans issued from the start of crop year 2009-2010 until week ending January 31, 2010 and reinstated homeless “A” sugar quedan permits of previous crop years;

WHEREAS, various sugar producers/traders had made an appeal to the SRA for verification of their “A” export sugar classified as “homeless” sugar pursuant to Sugar Order No. 9, series of 2009-2010;

WHEREAS, the SRA is mandated by E.O. 198, series of 1986, to protect the interest of the sugar industry in general and sugar producers in particular, without compromising our export commitment to the U.S. in terms of quality of the “A” sugar and its shipment schedule;

NOW, THEREFORE, under and by virtue of the authority vested in the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), it is hereby ordered that:

SECTION 1. Coverage of Reinstatement of Homeless “A” sugar quedans.

“A” sugar quedans issued from the start of Crop year 2009-2010 until week ending January 31, 2010 and reinstated homeless “A” quedans of previous crop years which were declared as “A” homeless sugar pursuant to Sugar Order No. 9, series of 2009-2010, are hereby qualified for reinstatement as “A” or U.S. Quota Sugar.

SECTION 2. The “A” quedans covering the “A” homeless sugar shall be subject for verification prior to its reinstatement as “A” or U.S. Quota sugar.

SECTION 3. The application for verification of the subject “A” quedans shall be filed with the Regulation Department, SRA, Quezon City.

SECTION 4. Reinstatement Fees.

For homeless “A” sugar of Crop Year 2009-2010 (September 1, 2009-January 31, 2010) : no reinstatement fee.

For homeless “A” of previous crop years: P60.00 per Lkg-bag plus P1.00 per Lkg- bag per day reckoned from the time it became homeless until the filing of the request for reinstatement pursuant to Section 2 of Sugar Order No. 3, series of 2009-2010.

SECTION 5. This Order shall take effect immediately.

SECTION 6. Provisions of Sugar Orders, Circular Letters, rules and regulations contrary to or inconsistent with this Sugar Order is hereby revised, modified and revoked.
