(NAR) VOL. 6 NO. 3 / JULY - SEPTEMBER 1995

[ LTO MEMORANDUM, June 06, 1995 ]

CONVERSION OF NON-PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS' LICENSE TO PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS' LICENSE

This has reference to the numerous drivers' license applications for change status from Non-Professional to Professional drivers' license which were found to be lacking the mandatory apprenticeship period.

In order that we can monitor closely the apprenticeship period of applicants for professional drivers' license from a new non-professional drivers' license, the following guidelines must be strictly observed:

1. Strictly reflect in the Drivers' License Receipt (DLR) for new non-professional drivers' license the Student Permit Number, the date issued and issuing agency;

2. Require the Drivers' License Receipt (DLR) of the NEW valid non-professional drivers' license when applicant is applying for change status of professional drivers' license.

3. The Drivers' License Receipt (DLR) must be a part of the application to be transmitted to the Central Office.

For strict compliance.
