REGISTRATION OF REBUILT UNITS WITHOUT DTI ENDORSEMENT

The LTO is in receipt of a letter from Atty. Sonia S. Tapales, the Chief of Import Regulation  Division  of  the  Department  of  Trade  Industry  (DTI),  informing  this Office that they continue to receive information and there are rebuilt units being registered without DTI endorsement.

In connection  thereto, you are hereby reminded  and directed  to strictly comply with Section VII of the Memorandum  of Agreement (MOA)[*]   dated 16 November 2006, entered into by and among the DTI, LTO and the BOC which provides that the LTO shall only allow registration  of rebuilt truck/buses  with DTI – Regional Office endorsements, in addition to the other documents/procedures  as may be required by the LTO.

Failure to observe the abovementioned provision of the MOA shall result to disciplinary/administrative sanctions.
