[ GTEB MEMORANDUM NO. 91-35, November 21, 1991 ]

IMPORT AMENDMENT PROCEDURES ON CHANGES IN FABRIC SPECIFICATIONS

In view of the difficulties being encountered by importers in the release of imported raw materials due to changes in fabric specifications without prior GTEB approval, the following simplification of amendment procedures relevant to fabric construction, composition or width changes shall be adopted:
PROCEDURES

A. Changes Noted Prior to Inspection 1.
Request for amendment should be filed with the GTEB with supporting revised pro forma invoice/s from the supplier.

  2.
Approval of request for amendment shall be released within 48 hours from date of filing of complete application/request provided there is no adverse quota implication.

B. Changes Noted Upon 1.
Request for amendment should be Inspection filed with the GTEB indicating acceptance by the firm/importer of the discrepancy noted by SGS. Through the acceptance, firm assumes full responsibility for non-acceptance of finished goods by the buyer as result of any change in fabric construction/composition beyond the tolerable variance. Said request should be supported by a revised invoice from the supplier.

Approval of request for amendment shall be released within 48 hours from date of filing provided there is no adverse quota implication.
Adopted: 12, Nov. 1991
