[ NTC MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 3-1-94, January 07, 1994 ]

REGULATING THE USE OF NUMBER CODES BY PUBLIC TELECOMMUNICATIONS CARRIERS (PTC)



In order to properly manage and ensure efficient use of the Number Codes which are limited, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) hereby directs the following:

  1. The use of numbering codes by public telecommunications carriers (PTC) in their operations other than those used and assigned as of December, 1993 without prior consultation and approval by the Commission is hereby PROHIBITED.

  2.  Public Telecommunications Carriers are required to apply with the Commission for a permit to use the number codes.

  3. The Commission shall assign number codes in accordance with the approved numbering plan.

  4. All PTCs are directed to register not later than 14 January, 1994 a list of number codes used and assigned in their operations.

Violation by any carrier of any of the above shall subject it to the sanctions provided in Executive Orders 59, 109 and 546.

This Circular takes effect immediately.
