DEADLINE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF PRICE DISPLAY BOARDS



WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 8180, otherwise known as the “Downstream Oil Industry Deregulation Act of 1996”, provides for the deregulation of the downstream oil industry to foster a truly competitive market which can better achieve the social policy objectives of fair prices and adequate and continuous supply of environmentally-clean and high-quality petroleum products;

WHEREAS, for the convenience of the public and monitoring of prices of petroleum products, Rule IV Section 12 (b) of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 8180 requires all retailers of petroleum products to display the prices of petroleum products, including LPG, in price display boards;

WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 392 effective 08 February 1997 provides for the implementation of full deregulation, hence, all dealers and retailers of LPG are required to install in their establishments prices display boards with light blue background and all numeric entries at least six (6) inches in height and colored black;

NOW, THEREFORE, this Bureau sets the deadline for the compliance of the above requirement as follows:
1. March 15, 1997
for dealers and retail outlets in Metro Manila
2. March 31, 1997
For dealers and retail outlets outside Metro Manila


The Energy Industry Administration Bureau of the Department of Energy shall closely monitor the installation of price display boards. Failure to comply with this directive shall subject the violator to corresponding administrative sanctions as may be imposed by the Bureau.

Strict compliance is hereby enjoined.
