(NAR) VOL. 11 NO.1 / JANUARY – MARCH 2000

[ MTRCB MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 99-07, August 30, 1999 ]

WITNESSES OF MTRCB VOLUNTEER DEPUTIES

We have been receiving reports from theater managers that some MTRCB Volunteer Deputies bring minor children below 18 years of age into theaters to serve as their witness.

As witnesses are required to sign Volunteer Deputy Reports and may be called upon to appear in administrative and legal proceedings should cases be filed against those who violated Presidential Decree No. 1986 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, those who are already of legal age must be chosen to act as such.

In this regard, this Board reiterates that the companion of an MTRCB Volunteer Deputy to film screenings must be of legal age in order to be admitted free into the theater under the terms of the Volunteer Deputization.

The BOARD also reiterates that it is incumbent upon the theater’s personnel to admit a duly deputized MTRCB Volunteer and his companion (who must be of legal age) into any film screening. Refusal to do so constitutes a violation of the law and rules and will result in sanctions against the theater and its personnel.

For your information and guidance.

Adopted: 30 Aug. 1999
