(NAR) VOL. 13 NOS. 1-2 / JANUARY-MARCH 2002

[ DOLE DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 17-02, FEBRUARY 1, 2002, February 01, 2001 ]

FULL VERIFICATION OF RECRUITMENT AND EMPLOYMENT DOCUMENTS

In line with the new POEA Rules and Regulations Governing Overseas Employment, all Philippine Overseas Labor Officers (POLOs) are hereby directed to perform full verification of recruitment and employment documents for overseas employment. They are further tasked to transmit to POEA via e-mail a daily report on the documents that they had verified.

Documents that had been verified by the POLOs will be submitted by the Philippine recruitment/manning agencies or workers to the POEA for registration. It shall be understood that the POLOs' task of verifying the recruitment documents for foreign principals and employment contracts of Filipino nationals, includes the responsibility of establishing the existence of the employing person, company, or project, its capability to hire workers at the approved rates and at desirable working conditions, in conformity with the minimum standards prescribed by the Philippine government and the labor laws and legislations of the host government. It shall also be understood that the POLOs assume full responsibility over the verified documents.

Pending the implementation of a regular program for Collecting Officers to collect at post, the Labor Attaches shall be authorized to collect verification fees immediately.

For strict compliance.
