[ PRC RESOLUTION NO. 483, SERIES OF 1997, March 04, 1997 ]

AMENDMENT TO SECTION 14, ARTICLE III OF RESOLUTION NUMBERED 381, SERIES OF 1995 (RE: STANDARDIZED GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION [CPE] FOR ALL PROFESSIONS)



By virtue of Section 3 of Executive Order No. 266 dated July 25, 1995, the Professional Regulation Commission adopted Resolution No. 381, Series of 1995 entitled: “Standardized Guidelines and Procedures for the Implementation of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) for all professions.

One of the resolutions approved during the PRC Planning Conference held on February 8 and 9, 1997 at the Development Academy of the Philippines at Tagaytay City attended by Chairmen of Professional Regulatory Boards, Chairmen and Members of the CPE Councils, the Presidents of the Accredited Professional Organizations and the PRC Officials, provides for the amendment of the “Matrix for CPE Programs, Activities or Sources” found at the last part of Section 14, Article III, of Resolution No. 381, s. 1995.

The amendments would add and/or reduce programs, activities or sources which would correspondingly add or reduce credit units for each activity, program or source added or reduced, as the case may be, and to eliminate the distinction between international or local seminars, conventions and the like to insure a fair, uniform, balanced and more equitable assignment of credit units to programs, activities and sources.

The amendment/s is/are seen as promotive of more efficient, effective and productive implementation of CPE programs, activities and sources to produce competent, world-class and globally competitive professionals.

WHEREFORE, the Commission hereby resolves to amend the “Matrix of CPE Programs, Activities or Source” found at the last part of Section 14, Article Ill of Res. No. 381, s. 1995 as follows*:

This Resolution shall take effect after fifteen (15) days from its publication in the Official Gazette or newspaper of general circulation, whichever is earlier.

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished the registered providers, the accredited professional organizations, the non-accredited but SEC registered professional organizations for dissemination to their members.
