[ LTFRB MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2001-003, February 01, 2001 ]

LATE FILING OF PETITIONS FOR EXTENSION OF VALIDITY

In response to the numerous petitions received by the Board to allow the late filing of petitions for extension of validity, and considering the economic difficulty that hit the country, which continue to affect the business viability of a lot of operators, specially those who operate public utility vehicles as a means to augment their family income, the Board hereby allows the acceptance and processing of Applications for Extension of Validity whose franchises expired as of January 1, 1996 or later provided the applications shall cover not more than two (2) units per franchise, and that during the hearing, it is proven that the units subject of the petitions are still in the name of the operator-applicant, the appropriate fines and penalties have been paid, and subject further to the existing procedures and requirements of the Board for resolution of applications of this nature.

This circular shall apply to all types of public utility vehicles, except buses, mini-buses and coaches.

All other issuances or parts thereof which are inconsistent herewith, are therefore modified or superseded accordingly to conform with this new directive.

This amendatory circular shall take effect fifteen (15) days after the filing of three (3) copies hereof with the UP Law Center, pursuant to Presidential Memorandum Circular No. 11 dated 09 October 1992.
