(NAR) VOL. 6 NO. 2 / APRIL - JUNE 1995

[ LTFRB MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 95-003, May 22, 1995 ]

PAINTING OF AREA OF OPERATION IN PASSENGER BUSES

Complaints have been lodged before the Board against passenger buses operating in Metro Manila whose operators use the same units for provincial operation and provincial buses owned by the same operators are fielded to operate in Metro Manila.

The practice, which not only tends to confuse the riding public, but also is violative of the Board's policy on flexibility in bus operations, must stop once and for all.

Wherefore, for the information and guidance of the riding public and for purposes of monitoring the area operation of all passenger bus operators having lines in both Metro Manila and the provinces, the Board resolves, as it is hereby resolved, to require all bus operators concerned to paint, in bold letters which can be read from a distance of 100 meters, the words, "METRO MANILA OPERATION", for buses operating in Metro Manila and "PROVINCIAL OPERATION" for provincial buses, on both sides of the vehicle below the tradename. The letters shall be 5" in height, 3" in width, ½ inch in thickness, and ½ inch in space between letters.

This Memorandum Circular shall take effect fifteen (15) days after the filing of three (3) copies hereof with the U.P. Law Center, in accordance with Presidential Memorandum Circular No. 11, dated October 9, 1992.

Adopted: 22 May 1995
