WHEREAS, after consultation with the academe, the Board decided to align the Licensure Examination for Teachers to the teacher education curriculum;

WHEREAS, the syllabus of the subject Professional Education has four (4) competencies to be tested, namely:

2. Principles and Strategies of Teaching ——————————— 25%
3. Measurement and Evaluation ——————————————25%

4. Social Philosophies ——————————————————

25%;

WHEREAS, most of the academic units of the professional education component in the teacher education curriculum are focused on Principles and Strategies of Teaching;

WHEREAS, the reduction of the percentage weight of Social Philosophies and the increase of percentage weight of Principles and Strategies of Teaching will enhance the content validity of the said examination;

No. 02, series of 1996 by reducing the percentage weight of Social Philosophies from 25% to 15% and to increase the percentage weight of Principles and Strategies of Teaching from 25% to 35%: competencies to be tested in the subject Professional Education commonly given in the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers in the elementary and secondary levels.
